About Flap and Play Kangaroos
Our mission is to nurture potential and celebrate every milestone in a child's journey with autism.

Our Philosophy
At Flap and Play Kangaroos, we believe in a holistic, child-centered approach. We see every child as a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, and potential. Our programs are built on the foundations of play therapy and sensory integration, creating a supportive and joyful environment where children can thrive. We work not just with the child, but with the whole family, providing coaching and resources to empower parents and caregivers.
Our goal is to foster growth in communication, social skills, and emotional regulation, helping each child to navigate the world with confidence and joy.
A Message from Our Founder

Shakila Mahboobi-Tamijani
When my child was diagnosed with autism at just one year old, my world changed forever. Like many parents, I went through a journey of shock, grief, and confusion — but also love, acceptance, and strength. Facing the reality was not easy. The daily challenges, navigating public spaces, and the lack of awareness and support in society were overwhelming.
But those challenges shaped me. I felt them not just emotionally, but deep in my bones. And through this journey, I found a purpose: to turn our struggles into support for others.
I founded this company to be a voice, a resource, and a helping hand for families like ours. My mission is simple — to build a space where understanding, compassion, and practical support can make a real difference in the lives of people affected by autism.
This is more than a company. It’s my way of giving back, with all my heart.
